Last night we watched Exit Through The Gift Shop, a Banksy documentary about Thierry Guetta, a film-maker who followed some of the main players in the street art scene through the nineties. The film was meant to be about Banksy, as Guetta was the first with real access to record the artist on the street, with his team and in his studio. But in the style of the artist, he turns the lens around. It’s funny, and kind of terrifying (I’m referring to the exhibition and Madonna reference, there’s no dirty wrongness here).
But, eh look! As if by perfect synchronicity, this Banksy intro to The Simpsons came to our notice today. Can this man do no wrong?
Plus in further news, there are some more films that we’ve been doing some background research for – Wall Street: Money Never Sleeps, Never Let Me Go and Mr Nice. Yes, the summer kids films are finally bound to the afternoons! Now, even though all three look pretty tasty, if you’ve not seen the first Wall Street you have to. Even if it’s just to spot Dr Cox from Scrubs looking impressively similar.
