Just In

New Designer / Kobi

I’ve never been a cheerleader. I’ve never jumped up and down in excitement and I certainly did not find myself tearful watching The Notebook. Seriously, man up! But hey, I’m still no Kelly Cutrone and as if that were ever in doubt, the fact that I almost shrieked with delight when Kobi’s jewellery hit the counter this morning proves my point.

Each piece is hand-crafted by Kobi who is a New Zealander by birth: they really do breed talent don’t they? When not moonlighting as a jewelley designer, Kobi is in fact an Art director working for the likes of British Vogue and creating advertising campaigns for the great and the good.

So what caused this upsurge in creativity when many of us would be watching Masterchef of an evening after a day’s work?

“I’ve always loved to make things. In my younger years living in New Zealand there were few opportunities to buy the latest fashion and accessories, so I was forced to create and make my own.”

But why now?

“Working on fashion magazines has cemented my love for fashion and design and has inspired me to follow my true love of using my hands again to create my own jewellery line.”

Good decision Kobi!
