Artist Vincent Olinet works out of Brussels and Singapore and I was astonished to learn that he is only a year older than me. Well played that man! Indeed his work has been shown the world over with exhibitions in Moscow, Bern, Paris and Palm Beach this year alone. Although there has been a sufficient amount of critique, which is no doubt interesting, I can’t help but be intrigued by the images themselves as they have a fashion quality to them. Part Sofia Coppola, part Tim Walker with a slap of Joseph Beuys. I guess it’s no surprise that a French Department store has leapt in for a piece of the action. Quite a jump from the MA Goldsmiths’ students (BBC Goldsmiths: But is it Art?) in the latest docu-soap for sure – still I’d recommend you look at both, but for entirely different reasons…
