NYC Fashion Week

Going through all the shows is a great pleasure but laborious in equal measure. For every new discovery there is another brand that regurgitates it’s signature designs, probably to a specific and content market, never wavering from where the buck lies. At New York Fashion Week there were some key trends, leather and fur being heavy hitters, along with knee-high boots, but what got me most excited was some of the colour-on-colour styling and the modern woman’s work wear.

Floral prints combined with sweats, neon hits of colour and of course on dresses were in abundance. Have to say even a bomber jacket was looking enticing. Plus all these looks are the opening exits from each designer. (L-R Derek Lam, Marc by Marc, Preen)

Metallic in every guise, be it metal or colour embellished brocade or flat colour was in abundance. The pairing of perceived evening wear with knits knitwear or heavily leather biker boots was a favourite for us.

A double hit of burgundy and in particular suiting was massive – I think I could get involved with this… (L-R 10 Crosby Derek Lam, Y-3, T by Alexander Wang)
